Relax, Renew, and Recycle at Painted Purse Class

One of the most relaxing activities in my life is creating something fun. Sometimes it is something whimsical, or a found object, or reusing, or recycling. This class is an all-around fun activity you can do by yourself, or bring along a girlfriend or family to make something unique. 

I have cut up my used canvases and drop cloths from previous classes and creative experiences for this class. That means the material is durable and long-lasting. All the items you need will be in the class. If you want to bring some trims, tassels, or other found items, go ahead! We can work together to see what unusual items we can incorporate into your purse. 

Renew your friendships, relationships, and creative soul at the class. Get your hands into the acrylic paints, finding your colors, and use my tips and tricks to bring about a new handbag or clutch.  Learn new techniques for surface design, which is any technique that changes the surface of a fabric. This would include painting, dyeing, or adding to make something else. 

Surface design has been around a long time and has a few definitions depending on the artist. For most designers in the soft arts and fiber world, it means

“…is any type of artwork (pattern, illustration, hand lettering, etc.) made by a designer that is intended to be applied to a surface to enhance its visual appearance and/or functionality.”
